POSSIBLY  THE MOST VISITED  AND POPULAR WATERFALL IN THE LAKE DISTRICT

Fantastic waterfall walk

MILES- 1-2  MILES           ASCENT 100M

FACILITIES- TOILETS, CAFE, SHOP

TERRAIN-Mixture of stepped and good pathways, unsuitable for pushchairs. 

Steep drops to one side of the path in places, so care needed.


The beautiful  waters of Aira Force and  landscaped grounds provide a excellent playground for young children to explore. 

There are information boards with facts about red squirrels to spot, an arboretum with a variety of  trees, also a  wishing trees, where coins can be pushed into tree trunks,  wish is meant to bring good luck.

The walk begins at the opposite end of the car park to its entrance, on the right hand side of the information shop, plenty of places to stop and enjoy a picnic.

The paths are well sign posted and easy to follow.


For a longer walk why not continue on the path to the summit of Gowbarrow total 4.5 mile walk.
