January 2019 it was a lovely crisp day with some light snow across the fells.

Ariya was 3 years and 3 months on this walk.

We left the lay by via a stile into the fell side and headed towards the gill , we follow Raise Beck which runs in a deeply enclosed valley between the slopes of Willie Wife Moor and Seat Sandal.

A metal post marks the highest point of this path before it splits to go around Grisedale Tarn. the path we took the path to the left and headed for the zigzag path up Dollywagon pike, it is a steep climb but maintained stone steps.

Once you reach the top there is a grass path towards a small cairn and metal pole, here you turn right to the summit of Dollywagon pike with views of Helvellyn on the ridge line, many people continue to Helvellyn from this route.

We retraced out steps back with 2 decent options, either the stone steps or a very steep grass path down which we took as the kids slid all the way down to the base  in 10 minutes.

We then followed the path  directly in front along the wall line of the northern slopes of Seat Sandal, this is a steep climb up but a short climb before you reach the summit cairn.

You can retrace your steps back down the beck or follow the steep path off Seat Sadal across the summit which is the route we took, it is very steep among rugged stone paths and grass slopes, this returns you back to the start where the car should come into view.
